My name is Aga and I am one of very few newborn photographers in Melbourne that work with natural light & create true and honest memories for families. I always knew that I wanted to portray beauty in simplistic & elegant way and so my work is known for the capture of moments that portray the essence of your family, with images that stand the test of time that allow you to relieve those moments again and again. My work is first and foremost about you and the once-in-a-lifetime events that you are generously inviting me to capture for you.

My work is pretty pure and simple as I firmly believe that newborn babies don’t need very much to add to their look. I follow a really easy flowing combination of loosely guided poses and candid/natural photography focusing on your individual family and the love you have for each other and your new baby. I want you to be able to look at images of your children years later and be flooded with emotions and memories, as you are seeing them just as they were.
Each session is different – some babies sleep through the entire thing, others are awake. Either way we will be able to capture some beautiful images that represent this amazing time.
I have no expectations of your baby, they don’t understand that you are investing in this opportunity to capture beautiful moments. If your baby cries or is unsettled on the day we stop and calm the baby for as long as needed. At the end of the day, the way your baby acts is a representation of them and that is what we are aiming to capture.
Brand new babies
I create memories for families at any stage of their life. Most popular are the newborn sessions held 5-21 days after your baby’s birth. A baby this age will generally curl up in to those fetal-like positions naturally, sleep longer and don’t startle as easily.
Older babies
Because my natural and relaxed style, I can easily adapt to your baby’s age at the time of the session rather than only working within the set timeframe. I simply photograph your little one’s personality and features that make them unique on the day I meet you. It is true that older babies are much more alert than they were in their first couple of weeks, they have already had more time to discover how interesting their new world is and they want to be a part of it. You will notice this change at home as they start to move from super sleepy to a little bit more reactive to your voice and touch. Other than the sleepy images of your little one, we tend to have also a lot more of the awake shots, capturing gorgeous eye contact and as they grow and their little personalities really start to shine.
Thanks to Covid-19 in 2020, I grew very accustomed to photographing babies when they were older as we were forced to close. So if you didn't get around to arranging a shoot before your baby arrived or if you just prefer not to do it in the very early weeks then I can still help you with natural, simple and beautiful portraits with your baby aged from 2 months onwards.
The typical photoshoot usually goes for 2-4 hours, allowing the little one as little interruption in the routine as possible, and for plenty of time for baby to feed, change, cuddle and settle. The Newborn shoot includes parents and sibling shots and is very relaxed and natural.
You can expect to be presented with the minimum of 80 images from your session (sometimes as much as 150). You can always choose to upgrade to the most suitable package after you have seen your gallery.
Sessions usually start at 10AM as babies tend to be at their most relaxed in the morning.
I include high–resolution digital format images that are accessible through your temporary personal gallery, so you have the option of creating artwork in your home or beautiful albums at your own leisure. Of course you are also able to download these high - resolution images to your computer to keep forever.
And finally, your session experience comes with a set of beautiful prints, as I believe the printed elements in my parcel is a huge part of the experience of appreciating excellent quality and there is nothing quite like touching and feeling those magnificent prints.
As a part of your photo experience with me, I will provide you with a "session welcome guide" in preparation for your arrival to the studio.

I offer a transparent and straightforward collections which includes: your experienced and dedicated photographer; beautiful physical prints that you select yourself; and the files so that you can print for yourself, family or friends for many years to come.

Below is an example of what you will receive in your parcel. It’s so incredibly beautiful and the quality is the absolute best. I believe in prints and memories you can physically hold in your hands and admire. Your parcel will make you appreciate excellent quality and without it the newborn session experience wouldn't be complete.

booking requirements
To proceed with a booking, please confirm your due date with THE FITZROYS PHOTOGRAPHY. This is crucial to secure your date because I currently work part time and can only take limited number of clients per month.
Newborn session is subject to $200 fee that secures your session with THE FITZROYS PHOTOGRAPHY.

Saturday morning session can be arranged on request as I understand that taking a day off during the week for your session is not always possible (especially when baby had to stay longer in hospital or when dad has to be back at work). Weekend sessions are subject to an additional fee of $200 (and availability)

You can expect to be presented with on average 60 - 100 images from the typical family newborn session.
The number of images is dependent on how the session goes but I will do my absolute best to be able to provide you with the most loveliest of moments in as many portraits as I can for you.
There are four digital collections for you to choose from, which will determine how many images you choose for yourself

Your gallery will be available to preview within three weeks. Final gallery delivery vary, depending on the collection chosen and number of images to edit.
My standard turn-a-round time to receive your gallery 40 days on average.
Printed products are usually back and posted to your doorstep on average within 4 weeks after your selection is submitted back to me.

Newborn sessions are shot in the mornings (usually start at 10AM) and takes an average of 2h (but can take up to 4 hours of shooting time). Baby only Newborn Sessions are finished within one hour.

I’d recommend doing a newborn session this time around. You can never regret doing it, as you don’t get the time back. It’s as much about looking back at the time of you as parents of a newborn, and about your first born becoming an older sibling as well as the baby as well. It’s a precious time that slips through your fingers, and I would give anything to go back for just a minute with my newborn baby.

The images you see of a dreamy, sleepy & curly baby are babies that are typically under 2 weeks old. At around 3 weeks, babies tend to be more alert. So that scrumptious sleepy head you gave birth to changes that quickly. Hard to believe I know, but you’ll see.
In truth I don’t have the set timeframe by which parents should photograph their babies. I often photograph older newborns (3-14 weeks) with galleries full of sleepy moments and other that are unique to your baby at the point in time. My images are natural and very relaxed and therefore there is no need to give up on preserving first weeks together based on baby’s age

Absolutely, yes - children and family portraits are part of the Family Newborn Session. We usually invite them to join in at the very start of the session. Please plan for the older children to be taken home with a friendly family member after we have finished taking the photographs of baby and the family, when possible

I take all the precautions to limit any risk of spreading infections. Please notify me as soon as there is a suspicion that you, your baby or anyone who’s planning to be present at the shoot might feel unwell. If your baby presents as unwell on the day of the shoot, we will also need to reschedule. We will reschedule your session for a new session spot at a later stage or as close to the original date as possible! This also applies to me, I will not take any chances and in event feel under the weather, your session will be moved until it is safe for me to get back to work.

- I receive flu boosters every season (June 2022)
- I have had my fourth Covid-19 booster in June 2022
- I am insured
- I am trained in CPR & First Aid (baby, children & and adults)
- I have completed workshop on Newborn Safety and received training on Workplace Health and Safety Legislation/Regulations

I don’t offer payment plans however clients are welcome to pay in instalments before their session if it helps

Yes I do offer vouchers - these are often purchased in support of the newborn session event, as baby shower gift, an additional maternity session gift or a part financial contribution to an already purchased session experience

Yes absolutely - I offer beautiful photo books & linen albums.
I can offer up to 40×30″ prints and I have an Australian framer whom I use if your desire is to have your prints displayed.
